  You can start taking care of your child’s eyes from a very early age. We advise that your child has an eye test every year from the age of three unless your optometrist advises otherwise. If you notice a problem earlier you must speak to your health visitor or GP.

• Should I wear my contact lenses to my contact lens aftercare appointment?

  We want to see how the settled lens looks on your eye, so please insert your lenses one hour before your appointment time. If you need an eye test too, we can do that straight after your aftercare - please ask for this.

• Do you offer OCT Eye tests?

  OCT stands for optical coherence tomography. It is a non-invasive type of retinal scan that allows us to see all the layers of the retina going beneath the surface. This allows us to more accurately assess the health of the retina and help diagnose eye conditions at an earlier stage. At Prince & Collison Opticians in Ashford we charge £35 for an OCT booked with an eye test and £45 if booked on a separate day  (this is the same price for private or nhs patients).
