Here at Millicans Optometrist - Liverpool We proudly support NHS patients, offering basic eye tests with the option to upgrade for those seeking more detailed scans.
At Millicans Optometrist - Liverpool, we have worked to develop our own standard of eyecare. This is far more advanced and detailed than other Opticians’ eye tests. This is a comprehensive eye examination with our fully qualified optometrist, which is typically every two years for spectacle wearers.
How do I book an eye test?
You can book an eye test online using the 'Book now' button at the top of the page, or by calling your local store.
How long does a eye test take?
Our comprehensive eye examination at Millicans Optometrist Liverpool with our fully qualified optometrist, takes around 30 minutes for the examination, plus any time taken to choose new spectacles.
When am I due for an eye test?
Usually, most adults are seen every 2 years, however, some are seen more often if we are monitoring something e.g. risk of glaucoma. If you are unsure if you are due, please give us a call on +44 151 228 8561.
What is the difference between a NHS Eye Test and an Enhanced Eye Examination?
Comparing an Enhanced Eye Examination to a basic NHS-funded eye test, you'll notice significant differences in the level of detail and technology used. An Enhanced Eye Examination utilizes state-of-the-art equipment to provide a comprehensive and precise view of your eye health. This allows for more thorough assessments and long-term monitoring compared to standard NHS-funded tests. The advanced approach ensures a higher standard of care and a more accurate assessment of your eye health needs.
When can my child have an eye test?
You can start taking care of your child’s eyes from a very early age. We advise that your child has an eye test every year from the age of three, unless your optometrist advises otherwise. If you notice a problem earlier it is important that you speak to your health visitor or GP.
Should I wear my contact lenses to my contact lens aftercare appointment?
We want to see how the settled lens looks on your eye, so please insert your lenses one hour before your appointment time. If you need an eye test too, we can do that straight after your aftercare - please ask for this.
Do you offer OCT Eye tests?
OCT stands for optical coherence tomography. It is a non-invasive type of retinal scan that allows us to see all the layers of the retina going beneath the surface. This allows us to more accurately assess the health of the retina and help diagnose eye conditions at an earlier stage. At Millicans Optometrist in Liverpool we provide a free OCT scan included with every eye test.
