• How long does a eye test take?

  Our comprehensive eye examination at Jack Brown Eyecare Edinburgh with our fully qualified optometrist, takes around 30 minutes for the examination, plus any time taken to choose new spectacles.

• When am I due for an eye test?

  We want to see how the settled lens looks on your eye, so please insert your lenses one hour before your appointment time. If you need an eye test too, we can do that straight after your aftercare - please ask for this.

• Do you offer OCT Eye tests?

  OCT stands for optical coherence tomography. It is a non-invasive type of retinal scan that allows us to see all the layers of the retina going beneath the surface. This allows us to more accurately assess the health of the retina and help diagnose eye conditions at an earlier stage.
